Following on from the success last year there has been a lot of demand from not only golfers but golf clubs to get involved in this years event! So this year we have added in 2 extra events to offer something extra to the kids involved. The facilities involved are Playsport Golf, Mearns Castle Golf Academy, Broadlees Golf, Whitecraigs Golf Club, East Kilbride Golf Club and Paisley Golf Club for the final. Entry into the event is £45 and that will guarantee a spot at each venue.
The format is a flag competition, each competitor is given a flag and sets out over 9 holes with their allocation of 36 shots, the winner of each event will be the competitor that gets furthest round the course. Points will be awarded on a sliding scale from 1st to the competitor that finishes towards the back of the field. Golfers will be split into categories depending on gender and ages, and this event is open to golfers of all abilities between the ages 7-12 years old.
We have added in a new category to cater for children who have already gained an official handicap, this will be played alongside the same categories as last year to make sure that there is something for kids to play in who might be that little more advanced.
As this is a series of events, upon entering the competition your child will be entered into all 6 events, children must play in a minimum of 5 events to be eligible to win the Junior Flag Challenge 2016. To see more about the venues we are hosting at this year please click here
