Welcome to the 2019 Junior Flag and Stableford Challenge
“The home of Junior Golf in the West”
2019 marks a big change for the tour, we will be able running over 30 events this year to help encourage junior golfers get into the game and more importantly stay in the game! This year we will also be offering two options for joining the tour, every member of the tour will pay a £20 joining fee which will get them a welcome pack at their first event and then each golfer will have the option to pay as they go per event or join the whole tour.
We will be running three different events within the tour, an 18 hole stableford, 9 hole stableford and our flag events.
Each event will allow golfers to accumulate points over the course of the season and the tour will culminate in our tour championship finals at some of the very best courses Scotland has to offer! We PROMISE that nobody will be disappointed in the venues we have lined up for our finals!
How do you sign up for the tour?
Signing up could not be more straightforward, simply visit the registration page and register there. You will be presented with 2 options, one is to join the tour which will cost £20 and you can pay per event (pricing per event is listed on the registration page) or you can join the tour for £150 (including your joining fee) which will get you access to all our standard, charity, fun, junior skills challenge and golf fit events, the only thing everyone will need to pay for is the Tour Championship Finals in October as we have no way of knowing who will make it there, if last year is anything to go by then it will go right down to the last event!
How do I get to the Tour Championship Finals?
Each players will accumulate points over the course of the tour, these points will be added together to give a running total. The top 20 players from each of our categories (18 hole and 9 hole stableford, 5-7, 8-10 and 11+ in our flag events) will be invited to the October finals.
The qualification points will comprise of 20% of your overall total points and your top 5 scores over the course of the season.
Do I need to be at a certain standard to play?
Absolutely not, the tour is built round the concept of getting children into golf, our main sponsor Golphin design clubs for children of all ages and abilities, and we follow the same ethos, so no matter what age or ability you have you will be more than welcome on the tour. All we ask is that you are out to have fun and enjoy the game of golf!
What is the flag format?
Our flag format gives each golfer 36 shots to get as far round a shortened golf course as possible. The object of the flag event is to give those that do not have a handicap a fun but competitive environment to participate in and make new friends of a similar age and ability.
We use some modified rules as to encourage the kids and help them get further round the golf course. Over the last few years we have run the tour, it is incredible to see how much each and every golfer has improved!
